The KSU Student Experience
Multi-Visions of Community
A cooperative venture between Visual Arts and Communication
students
Spring, 2004
Professors: Leonard Witt, Fowler Distinguished Chair in Communication
Carole Mauge-Lewis, Associate Professor of Arts
This project involved a civic mapping by communication students
of the City of
Marietta. The final product was a website of photos and interviews in three
areas:
Ward 1: A
traditional blue-collar area of Marietta that has experienced a
cultural clash between long-term residents and Hispanic immigrants who have
moved into the area. Team members: Laura Beckham, Sara Cameron, Alicia Cross,
Monica Gresh, Cheryl Miller, Summer Weston.
Clay Homes Housing
Project: This government housing project will be torn down
in 2004, displacing long-term residents. This team chronicled the transitions
faced by residents. Team Members: Eric Colson, Maria Kozlova, Jennifer Rickman,
Zola Fletcher, Jennifer Townsend, Melissa Young.
The Marietta Square:
This team focused on the past, present and future of the
heart of Marietta’s shopping and culture. Team Members: Lisa Brown, Erica Carlson,
